Imran Khan was the finest cricketer Pakistan has ever produced and the biggest heartthrob. It all started in 1971. A 19-year-old charming boy with handsome looks was a surprising member of the Pakistan team, scheduled to play against England.

In the First Test of Leeds, he scored 23 runs in the first inning and picked up his first test wicket of Tony Greig with the support of Wasim Bari, who took the catch behind the wickets. Indeed, this was a joyful moment for any bowler to open his test wicket account. Chris Old was his second victim of the match when Asif Masood made a nice catch. Overall, his bowling analysis was 2 for 55 runs. In the second inning, he scored 33 runs, and took the wicket of John Edrich, who was caught by Sadiq Muhammad.

Imran Khan also made his ODI debut against England on the same tour, in the 1st ODI, at Nottingham, 31st August 31, 1974. He cost 36 runs in his 10 overs and didn’t pick any wicket like in his first Test match.
