Moin-ul-Atiq scored a century in his second ODI. The top-order batsman from Karachi played five ODIs for Pakistan between 1988 and 1989. He was a 5ft, 8-inch opening batsman born on August 5, 1964, in Karachi. It was devastating that a player’s career ended with three more one-day internationals, only after he had scored his first century in his second match.
Moin-ul-Atiq made his ODI debut against the powerful West Indies side in the 4th match of Port of Spain on March 20, 1988. He opens the batting and provides a 109-run partnership with Ramiz Raja. His contribution was 46 off 56 balls, including four 4’s. Although Pakistan lost the match, he had to wait six months before he scored his first international hundred, 105 off 117 balls, against Bangladesh at Chatogram. He was declared player of the match as well.

In the next match, he scored 38 against India. That was not a bad performance, indeed. satisfactory performance by any level on those days, perhaps victims of liking and disliking. However, in the next two games, he failed to get double digits against Australia and the West Indies at Perth and Brisbane, and eventually, his career was sadly ended. He never comes back after these two failures. Moin-ul-Atiq played first-class cricket at Habib Bank Limited, Karachi, Peshawar Cricket Association, United Bank Limited, and Pakistan.
After retiring from cricket, he was the first Pakistani international cricketer to obtain a degree in sports management from the University of Central Lancashire, England. Moin-ul-Atiq also holds an MBA degree in marketing from HIMS and works as a sports director at DHA Sufa University Karachi.
