Azhar Khan – Ex-Pakistani Middle Order Batsman

Ex-Pakistani middle-order batsman Muhammad Azhar Khan was born on September 7, 1955, at Gujranwala. Azhar played one Test match for Pakistan against Australia at Lahore in March 1980 and batted at No. 9. Unfortunately, he could get only 14 runs in the solitary inning before Ray Bright clean-bowled him. Javed Miandad stumped Allan Border in the second inning, and he took his wicket.
His first-class career span was from 1972 to 1993. His highest score was 209, not out for Punjab Universities against Bahawalpur in 1974–75. In the following season, he scored another double hundred 203 against Lahore-A
Azhar Khan was a capable right-arm off-spinner, with 122 first-class wickets to his credit. Right now, he is a match referee in domestic cricket in Pakistan. He has a significant first-class career, scoring 7,733 runs at 37.53 in 159 matches. He made 16 hundred, 42 fifties, and 111 catches. In the bowling department, he took 122 wickets at 25.62 with a career-best 6 for 34, including a four-time five-wicket haul.
In his 43 List-A matches, he scored 689 runs at 26.50, with the best of 92 not out, including 3 fifties and 12 catches. As a useful off-spinner, he grabbed 26 wickets at 26.19 with a best of 4 for 24. It is extremely sad for a player who was capable of playing international cricket, but the cricket board didn’t provide him enough chances to prove himself.
